Master goldsmith setting a diamond at the bench

Bespoke commissions

A piece made for one person.

More than half of what leaves Aurelia is commissioned — engagement rings, anniversary pieces, family stones reworked into something the next generation will actually wear. Eight to twelve weeks, beginning to end.

Master goldsmith at the bench, hand-setting a diamond

Bespoke commissions

A ring made for one finger.

More than half of what leaves Aurelia is commissioned. We work from a single conversation — sometimes a sketch on a napkin, sometimes a stone passed down from a grandmother — and build outward from there. Eight to twelve weeks, beginning to end.

Provenance

Sourced responsibly. Made by hand.

Every stone, every gram of gold, and every set prong in this atelier can be traced — back to a mine, a refinery, a single set of hands. Lab-grown options available for every commission.

Stones

Sourced responsibly

Every natural diamond is Kimberley-Process certified and traceable to a single mine. We work with two partners we have visited in person.

Metal

Recycled, refined

All gold is 100% recycled, refined to 18k in California, and re-alloyed at our bench. No newly mined gold enters the atelier.

Hands

Made by goldsmiths

Three master goldsmiths, each with 20+ years at the bench. Every commission is carried by a single hand from wax to polish.

Client stories

Held, worn, passed down.

A small selection of recent commissions and the moments they were made for.

Margaux sketched a setting for my grandmother's emerald in our first hour together. Six weeks later it was on my hand. I haven't taken it off since.
Aurelia reworked my mother's tennis bracelet for our tenth anniversary — same stones, modern setting. It's the most thoughtful gift I've ever given.
I wanted a quiet pair of studs for my daughter's eighteenth. We sat in the atelier for an hour. They arrived in a hand-lettered box. She cried.

Frequently asked

Questions about a commission.

How does a bespoke commission begin?
A 90-minute conversation, in the atelier or by video. We sketch as we go, talk through stone options, metal, scale, and budget — and you walk away with two refined sketches by the end of the appointment. No deposit.
What does it cost?
Bespoke commissions begin at $3,800 for a simple solitaire setting (excluding the centre stone). The vast majority of our engagement rings fall between $6,000 and $18,000 total. We give a firm, itemized estimate at the end of your consultation.
How long does it take?
Eight to twelve weeks from first sketch to final piece. Five to six weeks if a CAD-approved design and the centre stone are already in hand. We can occasionally move faster for an anniversary — ask us.
Can I use a family stone?
Yes — and we love when clients do. Bring it in or send it via insured courier for assessment. We'll evaluate the cut, clarity, and condition, suggest a setting that protects it, and walk through any structural considerations before we proceed.
Do you sign every piece?
Yes. Every Aurelia piece is hallmarked, engraved with the year, and signed by the goldsmith who carried it from wax to polish. The signature is small. It's usually inside the band.
Can you reproduce a piece from a photograph?
We can interpret a piece from a photograph or sketch, but we do not copy other ateliers' designs. If you bring us a reference, we'll use it as a starting point for something genuinely your own.
