Provenance
Every pair is hallmarked, dated, and paired by the goldsmith who cast the caps. South Sea pearls are sourced from a single Polynesian partner; Akoya from a small Mie Prefecture co-op; Tahitian from a family farm we’ve worked with for nine years. We can name the farm.
A printed certificate ships with each pair, naming the pearl source, metal alloy, and bench note.
Pearls
All pearls are matched by lustre, overtone, and silhouette in person at the bench — no algorithmic pairings, no near-matches. The Sterling drop is selected for a long oval silhouette with minimal blemish in the visible quarter; the back is honest, the front is silent.
Pearls are organic. Each pair is unique within 5% of the published dimensions.
Sizing & Adjustment
Posts are 11mm and easily resized at the bench in either direction. Huggies are sized to the lobe with a fitting at our atelier or via a complimentary at-home fit kit.
We swap post-style for huggie-style or lever-back at no charge within a year of delivery.
Care
Pearls are softer than the metals that hold them. Avoid perfumes, lotions, and hairspray on bare pearls; wipe with a soft cloth after wear; store flat in the silk pouch we provide.
The Sterling pair is entitled to complimentary cleaning, polishing, prong-tightening, and rhodium re-plating for the lifetime of the piece. Annual bench check recommended.
Shipping & Insurance
Fully insured signature shipping is included on every order. The Sterling Drops ship in a hand-lettered presentation box, wrapped in raw silk, inside a cedar slipcase.
US delivery in 3–5 weeks from order. International via FedEx Priority, fully insured, all duties prepaid by the atelier.
Made by hand
Pearls don’t forgive an unmatched pair. I lay forty of them out on a black velvet tray and rotate them under a single bulb — the ones that catch the light at the same angle, with the same overtone, become a Sterling pair. The rest go back to the drawer.

★★★★★
My mother gifted these for my thirtieth and I cried in the parking lot. The pearls have a real warm-pink overtone in daylight — not the flat white you see in the photos online for cheaper drops. The post sits perfectly snug, and the hook closes with the smallest, quietest click.
★★★★★
Bought these for my rehearsal dinner — wanted something the bridal photographer could shoot in profile without a lot of competing sparkle. They photograph beautifully in candle light, almost luminous. Three guests asked about them before the entrée landed.

The pearls themselves are gorgeous — proper Akoya luster, matched well as a pair. My one small note: the drop sits about a quarter-inch lower than I expected from the on-ear photo, which reads slightly more formal than everyday for my shorter neck. They've moved into the rotation for dinners and weddings rather than office days, which is fine — just plan around the length.

My grandmother left me her pearl strand and I came in to ask whether matching earrings would even be possible. The bench pulled three loose Akoyas to compare under her strand in daylight and we picked the closest tonal match together. The result reads like the pieces have been a set for forty years.
